Greek Island Retreat

21st - 28th September 2024

8 days / 7 nights

Bouka Beach, Zakynthos (Zante)

Gentle & Restorative Yoga

This retreat is for those who wish to relax, rest, replenish energies and/or recuperate.

This video was made for the first Zakynthos retreat September 2021. Some info is out of date, it will give you a flavour though.

Zakynthos, southernmost of the Greek Ionian islands, is known for its natural beauty, fertile farmland, fine wines, sea turtles and calm seas.

The Venetians, when they ruled, called this island ‘The Flower of the East’.  Rodis Studios, situated on the edge of peaceful Bouka village, is surrounded by olive groves with a pretty beach just 200 metres away.

The weather on the island in September is usually lovely and apart from sleeping in our rooms, we can likely be outdoors in the fresh air - from our daily yoga practice to eating and socialising or simply lounging by the sea or in the gardens.

The Place

The venue for our Greek retreat is Rodis Studios, a tranquil oasis with clean, comfortable rooms and lovely landscaped gardens, a specially built yoga deck and seated pergola area, plus generous outdoor dining space.

British couple Kate and Gerard Ragnauth bought Rodis Studios eight years ago and under their hospitable watch, it has received 9.4 out of 10 ratings on bookings.com. You will enjoy an en suite modern shower room, kitchenette, and balcony with views into the gardens and surrounding olive groves. The double rooms have long balconies and sweeping views.

Accommodation very comfortable and clean, with balconies and lovely views.’’

“Excellent setting, facilities, location, near beautiful sea.’’

“Great yoga space - calm, attractive, set in beautiful garden’’.

The Yoga and Meditation

We will start with a first thing in the morning Gentle Yoga session. to ground and energise us for the day ahead.

Late afternoon is the best time for some Restorative Yoga, before a sumptuous dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Building up kindly awareness through mindfulness on the mat will underpin both sessions.

“Really well thought through yoga practice with something for everyone. Started the week gently and gradually built up”.

“A very good mix of relaxation and yoga practice with some mindfulness meditation too, Not too busy - perfect”.

The Food

Home-cooked, delicious, healthy food prepared by our hosts eaten outside under shade on the outdoor dining area. Mostly vegetarian, with some fish options.

Sample menu

Fun, Friendship and Wellbeing

A wonderful holiday is as much about the people as the place and the yoga. Our retreats nurture friendships old and new and many people stay in touch long after they return home.

Come and enjoy a sense of community and connection with your yoga and give your wellbeing a real boost whether you prefer lying on the sun lounger, swinging in the hammock or swimming in the turquoise sea. Or all three!
